Balancer Frontend Targeted in Cyber Attack, Users Advised to Exercise Caution

Balancer, an Ethereum-based decentralized finance protocol, has confirmed that its user interface is currently “under an attack.” The platform issued a notification to its community on September 19 at 11:49 pm UTC, urging users to refrain from interacting with Balancer’s protocol until further notice. The official Balancer Twitter account stated, “The balancer frontend is under an attack. The issue is currently under investigation. Please do NOT interact with the balancer UI until further notice!”

The details of the attack are currently being investigated by Balancer, and it remains uncertain whether user funds are secure at this time. However, blockchain analyst ZachXBT claims that $238,000 was stolen within the first 30 minutes of Balancer announcing the attack. ZachXBT shared a tweet stating, “Stolen funds are being directed to this address: 0x645710Af050E26bB96e295bdfB75B4a878088d7E. ~$238k stolen so far.”

This incident marks the second theft from Balancer in a month. Previously, the platform had warned of a critical vulnerability on August 22, which ultimately led to a $2 million exploit a few days later.

Please note that this is a developing story, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
