Crypto Platform Raft falls victim to $3.3M Exploit, but Hacker May Have Sustained Losses

Hacker Drains Over 1,500 ETH from Raft Protocol

On-chain data reveals a recent attack on Raft Protocol, leading to a loss of 1,577 ETH. The attacker then sent 1,570 ETH to a burn address, effectively destroying most of the stolen assets and retaining only 7 ETH for themselves. Prior to the attack, the hacker’s address received 18 ETH through the Tornado Cash crypto mixer service, as indicated by blockchain data on Arkham.

This information, available on Arkham, suggests the likely funding of transactions leading up to the attack. The attack resulted in significant financial loss for Raft, with the majority of the stolen ether being effectively burned. This incident highlights the vulnerability of decentralized finance protocols to malicious actors, and serves as a cautionary tale for the security of these platforms.
