Bitcoin ASIC manufacturer, MicroBT, introduced its latest offerings at the Bitcoin 2023 event held in Miami Beach. Dr. Zuoxing Yang, the CEO and founder of the company, displayed the “High density, low noise, low failure rate, and low maintenance” ASIC machines that will take bitcoin mining to the next level.
The event kicked off with a roll of film featuring the energy crisis, green energy, and how bitcoin can help solve the issue. The talk posed a question, “What matters more, mining or surviving?” Dr. Yang expressed his creativity for better power solutions when it comes to bitcoin mining.
In total, three models of the WhatsMiner M50 series were introduced – air-cooled M50S++, hydro-cooled M53S++, and immersion-cooled M56S++. These models boast impressive computing power ranging from 150 to 320 terahash/second (TH/s) while operating at 22 joules per terahash (J/TH).
Dr. Yang highlighted the heat collection capabilities of these mining rigs, which can be utilized in various ways such as space heating and industrial processes. The hydro-cooling mining rigs can reach outlet water temperatures of over 70℃ (158℉), enabling 2.4MW of power for a 40-foot container. The immersion-cooling solution requires only 10L of oil per miner, demonstrating its efficiency.
MicroBT has been prioritizing the creation of high-efficiency bitcoin mining rigs since its establishment in 2016. The company aims to support miners to uphold bitcoin’s decentralized principles while prioritizing network stability. Dr. Yang emphasized MicroBT’s partnership with industry stakeholders to promote sustainable mining practices, zero-carbon emissions, and social responsibility. The company’s focus on noise reduction, maintenance, and failure rates exhibits their commitment towards innovating and pushing the limits of bitcoin mining.
