Leading decentralized exchange SushiSwap has recently expanded its operations to Consensys’ Linea network. This move marks Linea as the 28th protocol that SushiSwap has joined, following its deployment on Polygon’s zero-knowledge EVM. Linea, developed by blockchain software company Consensys, was launched in July to cater to decentralized finance applications, non-fungible tokens, gaming, and social apps. The layer-2 network boasts low gas fees, low latency, and high throughput, making it convenient for users and developers. SushiSwap claims to be the first and largest Ethereum-native decentralized exchange to deploy on Linea, offering its v3 automated market maker and built-in DEX aggregator to users on 25 other chains.
Jared Grey, Head Chef at Sushi, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We’re excited to bring the proven and versatile functionality of Sushi’s v3 AMM and DEX aggregator to Linea’s high-performance layer. By leveraging Linea’s low gas fees, we aim to redefine what’s possible in terms of speed, cost, and overall trading experience.”
To enhance liquidity provision and increase returns, SushiSwap will collaborate with automated liquidity management (ALM) firms such as Gamma and DeFiEdge. Additionally, SushiSwap will soon integrate Smart Pools, a v3 ALM solution by Steer Protocol, into its platform. By leveraging Linea’s lower gas fees, SushiSwap aims to attract more trading activity and provide a seamless experience for developers.
Declan Fox, Consensys’ Product Lead for Linea, affirmed the partnership’s significance, saying, “Consensys is pleased to welcome Sushi to the Linea network. This strategic partnership aligns with our goal of enhancing the ecosystem’s accessibility, efficiency, and security. Sushi’s integration on Linea will contribute to increasing our network’s liquidity and reinforcing its position as a high-performance, user-centric layer in the Ethereum landscape.”
With the Sushi DEX now available on Linea, users can easily swap tokens, provide liquidity to existing pools, create new pools, and bridge their assets from Ethereum to Linea through the network’s bridge.
