OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot, ChatGPT, has been officially launched on Apple’s App Store, with an Android version expected soon. The technology has become a topic of great interest within the crypto community, with some already using it to create new tokens. The ChatGPT app features voice input supported by OpenAI’s speech recognition model Whisper, and syncs user chat history with its web version. While it is initially only available to iPhone and iPad users in the US, it will expand to other countries in the coming weeks. A full global rollout would see a portion of Apple’s 2 billion active devices gain access to the app. ChatGPT Plus subscribers will gain access to GPT-4’s capabilities as well as early access to newer features and faster response times on their iOS devices. However, some copycat apps charging higher subscription fees than ChatGPT have been reported. Google’s newly introduced Bard, currently ChatGPT’s largest competitor, is yet to be released in mobile app form.
