Presidential Hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy Adds Bitcoin to List of Accepted Campaign Contributions

Presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy is now the second US Presidential candidate to accept Bitcoin donations for the 2024 elections, following Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Ramaswamy announced, “Give $1. Let’s make the 2024 election a referendum on fiat currency.” During his speech, he flashed a QR code which redirected to a payment gateway accepting Bitcoin and its smallest denomination, Satoshi. BitPay was the payment service of choice for Bitcoin donations, although it supports various other cryptocurrencies. Donations of up to $6,600 are accepted by US citizens, and donors will be awarded an NFT. In February, the Kansas House of Representatives lawmakers introduced a bill capping crypto political donations at $100.
