The sale of BEN tokens by prominent crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, also known as BitBoy, has stirred up a lot of reactions and comments within the crypto space. Ripple Labs CTO, David Schwartz, reacted to the news of the sale and revealed his distrust for BitBoy. Armstrong was accused of dumping the newly-launched crypto asset he controls, and Schwartz responded to a tweet implying that Armstrong was operating as a scammer by selling off the tokens even when he promised not to. Schwartz boldly stated that, “I was hating on him before it was cool”. BitBoy has denied allegations of dumping the BEN project, explaining that he moved the tokens to generate funds for financing a deal that involves the BEN Foundation. However, on-chain data provider Etherscan indicated that the YouTuber swapped about 1 trillion BEN tokens for almost 45 ETH in three separate transactions. The allegations caused the BEN token’s price to tank.
